The system enables users to control individual shades, groups of shades, or preset Scenes in the PowerView® App by using phrases like “Hey Google, open Bedroom Left” or “Alexa, close the shades”. This functionality not only offers convenience but also allows for the creation of a personalized smart environment that adjusts to the homeowner’s lifestyle, providing control over privacy, light, and heat.
For Apple HomeKit users, Hunter Douglas offers the ability to control PowerView shades using the Apple Home app and Siri. This integration allows for secure and easy control of shades from various Apple devices, including the iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, and HomePod. Users can join a public beta program for PowerView Gen 3 Automation with Apple HomeKit, although it’s noted that this integration, while operational, has not yet been officially certified by Apple.
